God Dusknoir is such a good character.

There’s something I didn’t mention in the video since it didn’t seem overly important for the topic, but I think it’s so good to understand Dusknoir’s character.

When Dusknoir and Grovyle come back from the future, one of the first lines Dusknoir says is “I just don’t want to disappear. That’s all, I just don’t want to disappear.” It’s a fascinating look into his character and really sets the stage for everything that happens in SE5. It really compares well to Grovyle mentioning that he has such a loyal heart, but he’s chosen to align with Dialga because he’s afraid of disappearing. Dusknoir really isn’t that evil, he’s just afraid. We even see it when we first get to know him - sure, he’s here to stop Grovyle but he doesn’t have to be nice to everyone. It definitely helps, sure, and just by coincidence it teaches him about us, but I can’t help but believe that he does hold some fondness for the ordinary people of the present. Like, saving us from the Luxio/Electrike just isn’t something he has to do, though it is technically beneficial to him in a somewhat roundabout way.

Regardless, it really highlights the fact that Dusknoir is primarily motivated by fear. He just doesn’t want to disappear. That’s all. And Grovyle knows that just being like “oh dusknoir is evil time to fight” like in the present where it’s more feasible won’t work in the future. He knows that Dusknoir can be changed, he’s seen his shining spirit, and he targets that fear that Dusknoir has which inevitably changes him.

I love Dusknoir man.

[A video marked 2/2 is attached, and is a direct continuation of the previous, showing Hana fainting after a Bite.

"We're not going down that easy! Briar, come on out!" Gardenia says as she sends out her last Pokémon, a Roserade.

Jingyi just grins, and shouts to Sparky, who's starting to tire a bit, "Well, we're not giving up yet either! Keep using Bite!"

This time, the Roserade is faster, and hits Sparky with a Magical Leaf that leaves the Luxio panting, but he still manages to reply with a Bite that almost takes Briar out. Leech Seed takes a bit more from Sparky, and he seems close to fainting.

Gardenia smirks as Briar pulls out a Sitrus berry and eats it, almost at full health again.

However, the next Bite hits harder than usual, and takes the Roserade out. There's a moment of stunned silence, then cheering erupts from the stands (Link and Urbosa can be heard cheering loudest) and Jingyi runs over to hug Sparky.

"Not bad, not bad! That was a real close match if that Luxio's your only 'mon, and you got lucky there at the end. Very well done nonetheless, and here's your Forest Badge."

Smiling, Jingyi bows again as he takes the badge. "Thanks! It was a great battle, right Sparky?" In answer the Luxio gives a tired but happy purr. Off to the side, Rosie huffs a little, and Jingyi laughs, "Don't worry, you'll get to shine soon as well. Just that this Gym wasn't quite the best type for you."

By now, the Wen Qing and Meng Yao have reached the battlefield, and Wen Qing says, "That was pretty cool, I'll admit. I understand the appeal of this now."

Meng Yao smiles politely, but after getting jabbed in the side by Wen Qing they catch themself and smile a bit more genuinely. "It was an impressive battle. You and Sparky must've trained hard."

"Awww, thanks guys!" After a moment, Jingyi adds, "...Just wish Zewu-jun were also here to see it." Meng Yao tentatively puts an arm around his shoulders.

Jingyi gives himself a little shake, then says, "Well! We've got some people to talk to now!" and the video ends.]

This Pokemon generates electricity by contracting its muscles. Excited trembling is a sign that Shinx is generating a tremendous amount of electricity. Electricity makes this Pokemon's fur glow. Shinx sends signals to others of its kind by shaking the tip of its tail while the tail tip is shining brightly.

At level 15 it evolves into Luxio the Spark pokemon a electric type

By joining its tail with that of another Luxio, this Pokemon can receive some of the other Luxio's electricity and power up its own electric blasts. Upon encountering an opponent, this Pokemon prepares for battle by extending its claws, which can put out 1,000,000 volts of electricity.

Luxray can see through solid objects. It will instantly spot prey trying to hide behind walls, even if the walls are thick. Seeing through solid objects uses up a lot of Luxray's electricity, so the Pokemon sleeps for long periods of time to store up energy.

Random Event: The Zodiac Parade

A new year means new beginnings, new life. While some Garchomp were allowed to race, not all were present and accounted for. Indeed, not just the Garchomp but all the other members of the Zodiac!

Ancient looking Pokemon walked in a procession of their own accord, followed each by their brethren and offspring.

An old Bibarel with many scars walked ahead of all of its adorable singing Bidoof descendants. It was long ago like these Bidoof as it made its way through ancient Sinnoh, but now it walked as an elder Bibarel at the forefront.

The next to come was a weathered Bastiodon, with tiny, wobbly-legged Shieldon who probably hadn't seen much life with how shaky they walked. Other Bastiodon came with them, herding the young ones so they would stray or lag behind.

After that a proud Luxray with a scar over its left eye came marching proudly with its large pride of Luxio and spry Shinx who happily pranced about.

More followed, in the same fashion, each group coming in the order of the Zodiac proper and with groups of young ones following their leaders. Aloha Pokemon who had lived much longer than they should have, defying the times they came from. No one could doubt their pride though, shining in those venerable eyes.

Though the adults did their best to keep the young Pokemon close, it wasn't odd to see some of them rush out to meet people, most likely wanting to go home with them. And if that was their fate, the other Pokemon would not stop it.

"A new Challenger Luxio is approaching the mountain's trail!"

It's official. Sherfield might have its own Mountain Luxio.

Never have I tried drawing scenery in Dirty Sketch, just fumbled about and tried some techniques... and I think the smudged shading looks great with the streaky, dirty lineart.

In case you're familiarized, the pose is based on Shining Fates Luxio Artwork (one of my favorite TCG Artworks of Luxio). Scout requested me to draw Shiro in that pose.

One more thing, no Zeraora have been harmed making that hooded snow jacket.

Adoption Spotlight!

Today’s adoption spotlight is our Tuesday Twofer special, which are some of our pair bonded Pokémon! The stars of the show today are our two Shinx and Luxio brothers, Shock and Wattson!

Shock and Wattson came to us originally as a very sick pair of Shinx, assumedly rejected by their mother for some reason we haven’t quite figured out. They healed quickly under our care and became quite the pair of troublemakers around the Sanctuary!

For a brief period of time, Wattson was adopted by a trainer but brought back to us again when he evolved and was deemed “no longer cute”. Who could ever say that that face wasn’t cute?!

After Wattson was returned to the Sanctuary, he and Shock reconnected, and they are now inseparable! It has been deemed necessary for their continued health that they remain together in the future.

This pair loves to play and would make excellent additions to active homes, especially for trainers willing to put in the effort to make these gems shine! They can be a little rambunctious and will push boundaries, but they do excellent with our training sessions and are incredibly quick learners!

Shock and Wattson, as with many of our Pokémon, will have their favorite toys and their beds included in the adoption. They also love a good cuddle, which can be a little uncomfortable if you’re not keeping up with their static-reducing daily grooming. They love to get dirty though, so they’ll make you keep them nice and clean!

POKEMON LEGENDS ARCEUS: THE SHINY COLLECTION

I caught at least 2 other shiny Wurmple and 1 shiny Zorua that I gave to my amica. They think that's all I gave them but I can't be sure.

I also have failed I think 5 shinies? I think a Starly, a Clefairy, a Cleffa, a Drifloon, and a Murkrow. I might have failed another I didn't notice but the Murkrow is the only one I'm really unhappy about since I haven't found one since. Maybe a Chansey and a Finneon. Maybe something else.

I have counted all my shinies, and the number of shinies I currently own from obtaining in Legends Arceus at 516 hours?

(*Samson lashes his tail in response to the command, sprinting forward as he readies his attack. Celeste, the Bisharp, smoothly dodges... That is, until Sam speedily changes direction in time with his opponent.*)

"Shaaarp!!" (*Celeste cries out in light pain. The attack isn't powerful enough to do much damage, but the super effectiveness of the Fire Type move still causes great discomfort.*)

(*Once the attack has landed, Sam jumps back to stand next to his training partner, ready to attack again when given the command.*)

"Nicely done, Sam~! Ellie, use Spark~!!"

(*The Luxio in question sends a glance back to her trainer, then without another beat, she leaps toward Celeste. The Bisharp readies herself for the oncoming attack, preparing her own Nightslash to counter it.*)

“Fury Swipes~!” (*Grimsley commands Sam with a flourish of his hand. Just as Celeste is attempting to slash her arm, Sam leaps onto the limb and swipes it with speedy movements. This gives Ellie the perfect opportunity to hit the Steel Type dead on with Spark.*)

“Fabulous~!!”

(*The gambler claps his hands together at the teamwork of the two, not worried about his more seasoned Pokémon as those attacks have done little to nothing to her.*)

(*He takes a step forward to command the two young felines to step away, but freezes as Samson starts glowing. Eyes widen in shock, simply watching the young cat become consumed by blinding light…*)

(*The light seems much brighter than normal— Ah…no. That’s…- His Luxio is now shining with light as well! What a wonderful turn of events, it seems like both Pokémon at evolving at the same time!*)

(*Grimsley observes the phenomenon with a ecstatic expression, and soon it doesn’t take long for both Pokémon to finish their evolution. A Luxray and Torracat reveal themselves, the two of them looking at each other in awe before excitedly bounding back to Grimsley.*)
